Ros the Boss gets my Seal of Approval

Not every ministerial appointment made by the Government is greeted with a cheer. Some are met with derision, bemusement and cynicism.
However, when I heard the news that Baroness Ros Altmann had been made Pensions Minister last month the decision filled me with confidence.
Why? Well put simply, Ros knows what she is doing and what she will be talking about and making big decisions on.
Having worked in the pensions industry for decades she is not a career politician but someone who has worked hard, learned the ropes from the first rungs of the ladder and is quite rightly recognised as an expert in the field.
Ros has been a champion for older workers and I hope the political constraints that come with a ministerial post do not hinder her from doing the job she is definitely capable of doing very well.
Her position is an important one. As the population lives longer and longer the need for their money to match their longevity is crucial. Having sound, sensible and safe pension legislation will help this be achievable.
By tasking someone like Ros to oversee these very important decisions we stand the best chance of getting policies that work for peoples’ best interests.
Away from my office I’ve recently enjoyed the Pinner & Northwood Business Club’s annual Golf Day. I’m a pretty poor golfer to be honest but it’s always a fun day and an opportunity to raise money for local charities.
I’m delighted to announce that the guide to Pinner which the club produced has been very well received. We’ve created an online version of the guide which can be seen by visiting www.visitpinner.co.uk.
