Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or teach him how to fish and feed him for life.

Many years ago, I came across this phrase. Another more recently of ‘No one ever teaches you how to become a parent, but you learn how to get it right just as they leave home’.
We are all different and people are not all wired the same. Ultimately, it’s about us as humans. Where we think differently about numerous things. From one person to the next. But by providing guidance, advice and support has got to be the key contributor that we can offer to others.
We live in a very mixed up and confused world. Where with the evolution of the human mind, homo sapiens have always lived by opinion based on emotion. And where today, we have the ability to learn about what’s going on, almost as fast as light transmits. And to express our views instantly. Even in a manner where we can remain anonymous if we choose.
Unquestionably, there is a good and evil in this world. And two wrongs do not make a right.
What we have seen over recent times, is unparalleled aggression and oppression in central Europe. And most recently (being close to my heart), in the middle east. With both scenarios being extremely complex and volatile. Where it’s easy to pass opinion and judgement from the sidelines. But to do so coherently and justifiably, you have to know facts.
Admittedly, this article moves away from my usual message. But what I’m trying to articulate here, is that all I’ve tried to do as a parent (and I do in my professional life too), is inform, guide and advise. To allow others the ability to look themselves in the mirror. And not bury their heads in the sand. To then make informed decisions about what they do in their life.
I hope that you will share that same sentiment.

Remember that life is not a rehearsal, and we only get one crack at it. And although the money is important, it’s what we do with it that really counts.
